Default Which heads would you get for a LS3 416?

I am wondering if anyone has experience with "frankenstein TFS 245" heads.
Also, I'm looking at TEA TFS CNC 245s. I have bought both 215 and 235 TFSs from TEA with great success. Now, I'm shooting for mostly top end power.

I'm got a healthy solid cam for these heads. Car is drag only, 6 spd. Power below 5k, don't care much about. Use up to 200 hp of nitrous.

I almost hate to stick to the cathedrals, but thats what my intake is setup for and would like to stay cathedral port for that reason. LOL, unless one of you hot rodders want to buy it.

So whats YOUR head choice and do you have power or performance somewhere that is a good example?

When you say top end right away I think rectangular port instead of cathedral. Even tho a cathedral heads are proven performers with 6 speeds. I would call someone that knows cylinder heads like Brian Tooley.

Yeah, know what you mean. Those square ports calling me especially w/the big flow numbers.

I have a customer with a 3000+ lb F-body with a 402, BTR 245 heads, BTR hydraulic roller cam, Mast intake, Nitrous Outlet nitrous kit who ran 5.1X@137 in the 1/8 mile. The engine picks up almost 400 rwhp on a 300 shot. The problem with some of these bigger heads is they don't accelerate like "smaller" heads can. I say "smaller" because I remember when a 245 cc head was big.

Do you CNC your own heads?

No, my old company TEA does it for me, I just do the hand finish work. These heads would have the optional N2O exhaust port like the heads I mentioned before and the optional powdered metal guides so you can run stock rockers for maximum rpm ability.

We can take them down to a 62cc from a 68cc starting point. That's taking it down .042. I wouldn't suggest any further milling than that or valve shrouding will become an issue. With our heads we also give the choice of a high quality bronze or a powdered metal valve guide.

Thanks for the reply.

I have no doubt you are right, but I never have understood the physics behind milling heads causing shrouding Seems like it would reduce it if anything.

Two of my friends are running the TFS 255's on their boosted setups. Once TT making over 1100whp and the other making over 900whp with a D1/nitrous. Seem to perform pretty well out of the box. I'll most likely get them for my build.
