Default Burning excessive amounts of oil

Hey guys, this truck is really testing my patience. I installed a reman jasper 5.3 motor a few months back but just recently started driving it as a daily and I changed the oil almost 2 weeks ago and it has already burned through about 3-4 quarts! I've driven it a total of maybe 300-400 miles since I changed the oil. In case this helps I have 799 heads, shorty headers plus a .525 lifted cam installed. Would the head gaskets improperly sealing or being defective have anything to do with this much oil being burned?

If you didn't heat-cycle the engine after install, then I'd say that the piston rings didn't seat.......

There can be multiple reasons. As KW Baraka stated, the reason could be you didn't heat cycle after install and the piston rings didn't seat. There can also be a problem with the pcv system, is it installed correct? It can also be a combination of factors. I don't think the 799 heads or cam are one of them, but I could be wrong.

Jasper engines are notorious for having crappy quality.

SOLUTION...One of the holes in the valve cover under the PCV was clogged with hardened oil so after cleaning it out I haven't had any oil or smoke problems since.
