Default LS7 question

Have a 07 Z06 that has the LS7 in it. I made 863 RWHP with this motor and now I need to rebuild it. My question is if I put good rods and good piston and use the stock crank will this help the motor strength wise also what can I do about the sleeves? Thanks for any advice!!

It would be advisable to resleeve the motor as factory sleeves are the thinnest of all factory blocks. RED or ERL plus other companies can do this.

I would just sell the shortblock and have either above mentioned company do a resleeved alum 5.3 or just go straight to a Dart LSNext block for no headaches.
If you run different rods then the crank needs mallory to balance properly ($300+ extra on top of machining/balancing). So plan on a new dry sump crank from pretty much any company.... and some quality forged rods/pistons.

If I were going to this extent and you already have 6 bolts heads... I would not do a 4 bolt style block.

The LS7 has notoriously thin cylinder sleeves. You are going to want to resleeve the block or purchase a sleeved block if you plan on adding boost. Otherwise, you are simply on borrowed time.

I would sleeve it (ERL) at minimum.

gnx7 covered it.

Sell what you have, start fresh.

LSX, ERL, LS next block. Nice aftermarket long snout crank. Nice rods, nice pistons. Crank the ysi up and enjoy 1100-1200rwhp.
