Default ls7 clutch compatible with ls1?

Does anyone know if the ls7 clutch will be compatible with the ls1? Seems like it could be an affordable and higher quality alternative for modded 346 guys.

Still trying to make sure, but it sounds like LS7 clutch will work, must have LS7/LS2 flywheel, Scoggins indicated part numbers same for LS7/LS2 flywheel. $499 for clutch kit including clutch, pressure plate, throwout brg, flywheel.

Do you know for a fact that the part numbers are different for the LS7 and LS2 flywheel ? Scoggins said they were the same number and the full gm kit is a better deal.

Lightbulb

See also thread from 'LS7 Clutch Installed Today'.
1. Clutch - 24233650 - $274 Scoggins
2. Flywheel - 12571611 - $161 Scoggins
3. Kit w. throwout bearing - TBD part number - $499 Scoggins
Also something I am debating is that I already have a new slave and throwout bearing but with the kit, it is a balanced assembly; clutch and flywheel marked just like the LS1 or LS6 kit. Is it really necessary to have a balanced set - that is where GM stuff makes the difference sometimes ?

I like the clutch, it feels just like stock and it doesn't slip. I didn't get mine balanced and I didn't notice any vibration so take that for whatever it's worth.

That's what I figured is that a lot of the guys doing this swap do not balance the clutch/flywheel assembly. Anyone else with info on balancing LS7 clutch vs. not is appreciated ?

Mine's not balanced, and I love the thing to death. Holding up quite well, and no chatter just makes it awesome.

I did not balance mine and it works fine. I know it's not a kit with the flywheel, but I thought the pressure plate was balanced from the factory and so was the flywheel???
