Default Some L92 questions after 3 hour search.

I am going to buy a LQ4 long block, and want to swap to l92 heads, and l76 intake for my TA. The motor will be a nitrous motor. From what I see the stock springs in the l92 heads are pretty much junk, only being able to hold just over .500 lift. I am unsure of the cam I am going to run, but its deffinatly going to be bigger than those springs. I have a set of crane duals with only about 200 miles on them on my ls1 heads. can I swap the springs and retainers from my ls1 heads to the l92 heads? Now the next dillema with the heads. If I where to buy the assembled set, without milling them what would my compression be roughly? I would consider milling the heads, but I don't want to mill a whole bunch because i still want to run a cam in excess of 600 lift and around 240 duration ish. How much should / could I mill and roughly what would my compression be? If i got the l92/l76 setup from slp, what would my compression be. I am running a TREX cam right now and would want something a bit more streetable, yet still have the sound of (i'm gonna mess you up) I know these heads, with their exhaust port setup, they like split cams, but what cam would be a good cam for this type of setup? I can get a set of accel 30lb injectors, would that be enough or should I go with around 40lbs?

1. can I swap the crane dual springs and retainers from my ls1 heads to the l92 heads yet have the correct installed height?
2. If i just throw the l92 heads onto a LQ4, without any milling what would my compression be.
3. How much can I mill the heads to keep compression, yet still run a decent cam in excess of .600 lift and 240 duration? and what would my compression be?
4. If i got the l92/l76 setup from slp, what would my compression be?
5. What would be a good nitrous ready cam for this style of setup?
6. will 30lb injectors work, or do i need something like a 40lbs?

thanks for any and all help

I would go a little bigger than 30's on the injectors. It will give you plenty of room for later mods incase you want to put gas on it on down the road. A cam the size of the t-rex would be alot more streetable in your new setup because of the extra cubes. As far as your compression ratio, alot will depend on what head gasket you choose to run. Good luck with your combo.

i found out you need to use different styled injectors with the l76 intake, so i can't use my current 30 lbs injectors.

1. yup
2. i have ~9.6ish with 030 cometics
3. keep searching, its around here somewhere. compression wise you could prolly get to 10:1 without ptv issues
4. still in the 9.5 range
5. think big split. onmy setup im using a 210/230 .550/.550 120 +4 (LS7 stocker)
6. Im using delphi 42lb injectors. use the 40's that come with the l76 from factory.

I have this combo. I have uncut L92's on a stock 6.0 with rod bolts. I am running an MLS head gasket and am around 9.5 compression ratio. I am also running a 228/240 on 115 lsa .612 .613 lift cam. Also running an L76 with 40 lb injectors...numbers in sig.

Buy the LS3 heads instead. They are cheaper than the L92 head and if you buy the assembled head, the springs are good to .57" instead of .51" and the intake valves are hollow (less weight).

PN for the LS3 head is 12629063, buy it from GM parts direct for $312/each assembled.
