I went with a 250/262 in my 427. But if you want a good every day cam I would go somewhere around 244/248 on a 114+3. I would NOT get a cam on a 108, driveability issues etc.

I would say to keep the 250/258 but move your LSA to 113+2.

Not trying to be an ***, but why don't you pay a professional to spec a cam out for you? Call up Erik Koenig (HK Enterprises) or Patrick G (Thunder Racing) and tell him what you have and what you want. They'll fix you up. I seen that you reposted this question in the L92 external section. You're gona have to purchase the cam regardless.

Your selection is limited as this is still kind of new. There is a lot more options for catherdral style heads, so a shelf cam isn't necessarily a bad thing since so many are proven. There are some out there, you just have to pick one or again, have someone spec one out for you.

LOL! Let me know when you need any parts....I'll give you an extra special deal!

We work with HK on things and also talk with Patrick on occasion, and respect both of their opinions, so don't take this as belittling or bashing them...But we've been in the parts business for about 80 years (30+ in performance parts). We do as many LSx engine builds and R&D on these builds as pretty much anyone out there, from mild to wild. We have a pretty good idea about what makes power and what doesn't.

Back to the OP: Originally, Tim recommended that cam because you were willing to go with a bigger "max effort" sort of camshaft, correct? And now you've sold that car and need this to be a more streetable, daily drivable combo? Give us a call and we'll spec a new cam for the new setup. Myself or one of our other professionals will be glad to help!

With the intake/exhaust ratio of the l92 head I would try to do something with about a 10 degree spit with the exhaust lobe having more duration. Larger CI dows a good job of swallowing up cam duration as well.... for a car that you're gonna drive every day I'd look @ something that's in the 238/248 range, keep the lift at about 600 and your valvespring life should be pretty decent as well, so the bigger maintenance type stuff won't be as big a deal.

Matt@SDPC, I just named a couple off the top of my head, sorry if I offended you that I didn't mention you guys. My statement was general, as in he should just pay someone to spec it out for him as opposed to just having random people off the board throw out numbers.

To answer your question about LSA, when you go smaller, it has the potential to make more power and torque, but in a smaller peak range, for example more power at 6200-7000 but less power at 3000.
If you want a streetable cam, go with a wider lobe seperation of 113 or 114. It may make a few less HP at 6600, but will be more friendly to drive at 2000-5000
