Default World Warhawk LS1X Heads

Im currenlty building an L92 based 427. I wanted to go a different route other than the typical AFR, TFS, and ET heads. Besides I cant afford those anyways. So I wanted to try the LS1X heads. However I havent found ny real world data or info. Has anyone ran or knows anyone that has used these heads and what the results were? Thanks in advance for any info.

Are you doing a 4.070" bore and a 4.100" stroke? Beacuse the L92 block can't support a 4.125" bore...
If i remember correctly the LS1X heads did not flow all that great...

Im doing a 4.100" stroke. Ive seen the thread that had the flow numbers but that was a little dated. Also flow numbers arent everything but are a good insight. Im just really curious what these can do with the right cam. My fall back is as-cast TFS heads.

Well check this out first... I think they tested these out on a 4.100" bore but dont quote me.

They also do L92 heads and they can make them flow like hell!

I would love to use a set of LS7 heads. But I was under the impression that they require at least a 4.125" bore.

from memory yes they need that 4.125 bore-
because of the valve size

Thats what i though. but i was intrested in the same motor as the OP but a 4.00" stroke. I called about the heads and they said that they will be doing some testing on the 4.100" bore, this was about a month or so ago.
Give them a call and look into it!

Ls7 heads only require a 4.10 bore.

I wonder if .040" over bore on the L92 is too much. Probably considereing how thin the sleeves are. I know some blocks had issues with offset sleeves with variable sleeve thickness in each cylinder. I checked my block and that was not an issue. Anyone know if I can take an L92 to a 4.100" bore? This motor will stay N/A.

You can take the L92 to 4.100" bore, its not recommended. If you did i would hate to scratch the cylinder walls...

A couple of people have done it, but it definitely requires a sonic test on the block.

I dont think its worth all that trouble and the risk just to be able to use a set of LS7 heads. Im gonna start a new thread when the buid begins (should be this month) and well see what the results of these heads is going to be.

the ls1x head dont flow too bad for a set of unported heads.i flowed a set recently the intake was great at over 300cfm but the exhaust wasnt too good, did a little work to the exhaust ports and they flowed around 230cfm and the low lift numbers were good as well, just cant remember exactly what they were off the top of my head

How long ago was this? I was under the impression that the as-cast was offered as a porters special only. They normally sell the heads ported with a 235cc runner.
