Default How strict is tech inspection

Crack my windshield pretty bad while putting my hood back on.
Spider web it pretty bad on lower drivers side. Doesn't block vision.
Also battery in back and bolted down but not in a sealed box.
Low 10 car, but will on run 11.5 index. Rumble class.

I pass tech at both my local tracks.
Don't even have my roll bar in yet.

They tend to be a little more lenient with the LSX rumble class because there are a lot of beginner racers in it. I would definitely get a sealed battery box though. That is a pretty basic requirement that they will probably look for.

Yeah they didnt seem to be digging to deep for the Rumble class at all. Was about a 30 second inspection....

I might get a cheap windshield and make a bulkhead for the battery compartment.
Hope the trans holds out.

Well nobody who is officially involved in the event is gonna say you will slide on stuff.

The NMCA guys are running drag racing and tech this year, not the same folks as last year. If you want to discuss this offline hit me up at john@motorsports-media.com.

My public advice though is to not blow off what you need to be legal at 11.50. Generally it's a good idea to be legal or darn close, rather than not even close.

Im with pro stock john you need to get all your safety equipment lined out. Also make sure your helmet is in date I know last year they checked our harness and helmet for dates.

You will need the roll bar to go faster than 11.50. I got yelled at the first pass going 11.065 for not having a roll bar. Now I don't have to worry about it since I just had a cage installed.

Fellows, I know what I need, I'm just asking how strict are they.
I don't have time to get the roll bar in, I'm not really wanting to compete in any class.
Several people wanted to know if I was bringing my car. I'd love to, but it's not up to tech.
Like I said my 2 local tracks, I get by on TNT nites. Really all I want to do is make a few passes.

Last year tech was a complete joke.

I won't even say what I didn't have and the car passed anyway... 11.0 dial in.
I an my two buds thought there was no way I'd pass
I laughed pretty hard when he didn't even check it.
I'll say this-i should had been racing!

John says different people this year though so I'd assume it wouldn't had passed. I'm legal noe though.

Keep in mind that this is not an NHRA sanctioned event, but rather a very large track rental sponsored by the good folks at Holley. I believe they want everyone to have a great time and return next year. From my experience last year most everyone who was racing had lots of drag racing experience
and pretty much followed the rules as far as safety and courtesy is concerned. Tech inspection was not a big issue as far as I could tell.
Just my 2 cents for what it's worth.

Jimbo
