Default New from SC - Looking to build one bad 4th gen LS Trans Am

I am an experienced hobbyist car builder with mostly 2nd Gen F-body experience. I have built and still own 4 2nd gen Trans Ams. I built and put a couple of stout motors in 2 of them. The other 2 are restorations rather than resto-mods. I started out doing restorations but am now a resto-mod guy through and through.

I recently acquired a 2001 WS6 6speed Trans Am that a young lady had hydrolocked after running into a flooded intersection. The body and interior are in great condition, the electrical works, etc. It does need both window motors but she said it needed them before the incident. Anyway, I paid $2K for the car with 80,000 miles on it with the intention of building it into a show quality car. I already own a number of 2nd gen F-bodies so I wanted something with more modern handling and saftey features.

My thoughts on this car are to build a very stout LS motor with a procharger, possibly lambo the doors, lower the car and put a 2nd Gen rear spoiler and 2nd gen Trans Am air vents in the fenders. Similar to what they did with the 2003 SD421 Trans Am that GM built for the Woodward Dream cruise. I will keep the WS6 hood.

So I need help in finding out who can produce the rear spoiler since GM did not reproduce the one they made for the SD421, and the air extractors as well.

I also need advice in selecting the LS build. I will most likely want to go with a cast iron block to get the larger bore but am open to any suggestions.

I'm not big for Lambo doors, but if its show quality and you think it will help bring a trophy in then best of luck.

My son tells me the same thing. I have never had them on a project before. Is either that or suicide doors :-)
