Default NJ - Hey! I need a fast motor and figured this is the place to go!

Hey guys,

Joined the forum to hopefully find a good condition LS motor for my car! Just wanted to say hi and ask for some advice.

I'd like to find an LS1 or LS2 motor, trans, ECU etc. from a GTO if possible. Any help would be much appreciated and welcomed.

I don't know if this is going to turn you guys for or against me but I'll be stuffing this in my second rx7.

Here is the car that started my obsession.

When I got it, it looked like this...

My second car is black. I'm still deciding on a color after the swap!

Any thanks again fellas. Shoot me a PM if you can! I seem to be having problems posting.

i personally like rx7s with a ls motor in them, you shouldn't have a problem finding what you need on here.

Thanks man. It's a Mazda OEM color that was only offered for the Rx7 in its last limited edition run. Titanium grey metallic. Those pics don't do it justice. I'll try to dig up something nicer. My car is probably the most complete LHD Spirit R replica in the states. Probably even the world.

BTW, how come my post count isn't going up? I did posted several times already.

Posts only count in technical sections. The intro section is one of a few that don't count. This is in place to prevent post whoring.

There have been more than a few LSX rx7s out there. Just remember to search and read the stickies.

Nice rx7! Please post better pics of the paint job. I'm thinking of painting my LS1 240z that color

Wow, that is one of the nicest RX-7's I've ever seen. The FD3S was my dream car as a teeneager and I would still love to own one someday. I love these with the rotary, but I've heard with an LS1 they turn into total beasts.

I'll try later tonight my man. If it were me, I'd consider a different grey. I felt bound to this one because its an OEM color but the GM metallic grey might look better. Don't get me wrong, I love the color but if I might have picked a different one if I wasn't trying to make a replica.

I appreciate the kind words. The FD is definitely my dream car and to own 2 of them has been amazing. The rotary is to much fun but I don't think I have the resources right now to take care of 2 of them. They are trouble free when done right but if the worst case happens, I only trust 2 shops near me and they are at least 45 - 90 mins away. I'm going LS to make sure I'll always have a fun car that will be almost maintanance free. I figure it would also be nice to have rx7s in different flavors.

Its hard to pin a good one down. The car looks different in all sorts of light. Here are some of my favs. The pics are terrible (the first one is good because I didn't take it haha) but I think it shows off the paint well...

Be aware though, I think the painter and the paint itself had alot to do with how it looks. I've seen other FDs with the same color and it never looked as good. I'm going with Samberg!.

They can help me source an engine and trans? That would be awesome. Wow I'm actually really far from them but if they could ship an engine to me I'd do it.

I like the Hinson stuff but I've never seen the samberg on the rx7. Are you on norotors.com?

I've been on norotors but haven't registered everyone I spoke to likes the samberg stuff over Hinson.
