Proud new owner of 2002 formula
I just purchased a formula firebird last week and I am open to any advice for the car. Do's and dont's. I am just curious if anyone knows why one side of the cars taillights seem a bit brighter than the others? Could it be one is faded or does it sound electrical. Thanks for any and all advice.

Probably moisture got it the light.
I'm not sure on the remedies if any for it. I don't think puffing it will work because I think its on The Inside.
Could also be faded from sun.. then buffing and polishing would help.
I love formulas, post some pics man. Hardtop car?

I have never had that issue so I have never looked Into it. I would do some research on it first.. possibly even a thread afterward if you don't find your answer in the appearance secion.
A used replacements will run you 100$ most likely, if you can find one single one. Still might not match however.
I would look Into fixing yours first.. then maybe buying another or possibly a set.

Nice buy man! I have a 98 and other than the fact that it's a 98 (806 heads, ls1 manifold, etc etc) I love the thing! I hardly ever see any formys, only seen 2 others out here in so cal so far in a year of ownership. Let's see some pictures! My advice for looks is don't start putting the trans am parts on (hood/hatch) although some can definately pull it off but other than that mod away, make us formy owners proud!!

my wife let me get the car under the condition that I get some form of nostril hood. I will get picks as soon as I get a chance I have been busy with maintenance and enjoying it between work. I didn't want a formula, but my friend talked me into it. I thought there was more stuff different than just the looks and interior. I couldn't help the price for the low miles. Also it was the cleanest one I have seen.

I recommend a stock Ws6 hood. Nothing flows as good imo. Firehawk would be next choice since its a formula and would flow good with the bumper.
There Is more different.... formulas only came with 275hp.
Just kidding!

Don't have a clue what bull **** rating gm gave them. All ls1s Dyno around 290-310rwhp in stock form. Which put them around 335-345hp rating/crank.
An ls1 is an ls1 is an ls1. Vettes fbody gto doesn't matter, its the same motor. Of course they arent going to rate their 30k$ rattle box the same as their 50+k$ flag ship Corvette.

Your best bet is buying a new replacement tail light. You can do a cheaper fix though. Take a heat hun to the adhesive and take the tail light apart. Buy some metallic silver spray paint and recoat the faded reflector. Then get some adhesive and glue it back together. I opted for just buying a new tail light on my car
