Default Had my 01 WS6 about 2 months now, suggestions for performance increase??

New to LS1tech! Finally got my dream car of an 01 or 02 WS6 about 2 months ago after driving a 95 Trans Am and a 02 mustang gt (it was my brothers im all f-body!). Absolutley love my car but who doesnt want just a bit more grunt? All ive done to it is put a set of flowmaster exhaust on it (actually the exact same exhaust as the Corvette c5 a few years back). Otherwise shes bone stock. Just wondering on some starting ideas to get her rwhp numbers up a bit. Ill post pics of her eventually but shes a 2001 Sunset Orange Metallic WS6. Thanks guys and i really look forward to talking with you guys and discussing all our smash victories over those old mustang gt's that still think they can hang! 4.6L and 260 hp... pleaseeeee 5.7L 330+hp lets go!

welcome. sounds awesome. First off loose the choke masters! Loudmouth is my favy! Magnaflow rocks with cutouts and great for a quick power and noise boost!! Also, some brand of Lid over the stock air box, SLP or otherwise are a first as always. then maybe some headers. then the sky is the limit!!! Well, the sky or your wallet! Do a search on starter mods and free mods!

yea i figured the lid would definitely be the first thing id go after. i actually just graduated high school (yes everyone hated the kid with the bad *** WS6) and i know farrrrr more about cars, especially the T/A's, than most guys my age but not quite the true expert yet. is the lid something me and my brother could do in the driveway?

absolutely. when u pop the hood, that air box that has your filter underneath it, well thats the lid. get u a flat head screw driver to un-do the metal clamps holding the air bellow on and un-plug the little IAT sensor and yank the stocker off. Been awhile since i messed with a stock lid but either way, half an hour for one guy taking his time and being thorough. while u have the lid off loose thestock air filter and get yourself a K and N or fram air hog filter. anything beats the stock crap!!!

I don't know how far Lexington is to Dayton, Ohio, but check out the Trans Am Nationals in late August if you're in the mood for a road trip. They have about 400 cars and you can get some great ideas and learn a lot of info.

you can grab a wix stock paper filter. it has already been shown that K&N filters don't give you any more horse power on these cars than just a regular stock filter, K&N cost more and allow more dust to get in engine

How much you have to spend? And if your m6 id do: lid, lt's,ory,cut-out and tune it. For an A4: stall, lid, lt's,ory,cut-out and tune it.
