Funny you should say that lol. I am going to be tackling that this weekend. This car has not had a great start with me lol. It ran fine for the 2 hour trip home, ran fine for another 4 days and then overheated on me. There was no coolant flowing through the engine. I replaced the thermostat thinking it may have been faulty, no change. I noticed that the fans were not coming on, checked relays and fuses and replaced those as well. It is still overheating, and not letting coolant into the motor.

Unless there is a passage clogged...coolant IS going through the motor.
Radiator clogged?
Coolant sensors working correctly?
You replaced relays and fuses for fans and they are STILL not coming on?

Not sure on the radiator. I honestly am not mechanically inclined person. I kind of learn along the way. I haven't checked coolant sensors. When I start the car and it shows as "operating temp" my coolant level does not go down in the radiator, infact it rises a bit. I know the system is pressurizing. My upper hose going to the water pump is cold and my radiator itself is cold when my gauge is showing it to be up near the red, while the lower is getting warm. I know this is not the right place for this convo, so I will stop for now. If need be, I will post a thread elsewhere lol.

when u take the radiator cap off is the coolant moving?? try taking the thermostat off then run the engine. if it moves then its a bad thermostat. if not then it could be the radiator. try a flush and check the fans on why they are not coming on

[QUOTE=smitty2919;18052410]Well you should not be reading normal operating temp when starting the car from being colthermostat.]
That's what I'm saying, I start it and let it run til it gets up to normal temp, it keeps rising though. The cap was off of the radiator and the fluid level did not drop, in fact it rose a bit. I've already replaced the thermostat. We took the radiator cap off when starting the car while it was warm, level never dropped
