Hi all,
I've been lurking around here for a while, and finally decided I needed to join. lol
My project is an '89 S-10 that's getting a 2003 LQ4/4L80E from a Silverado 2500HD.
This will be my second project car (first one got cut up and parts sold when I had to move), as well as my first LS project.
My goal is to have a pro-touring themed, driveable, kinda fast nice weather driver.
Round 1 is going to be getting all the mechanical/electrical sorted out and drive it for a while, then blow it back apart to make it pretty. The engine will stay mostly stock. I plan to use CPE mounts/Stainless Works 1 7/8 long tubes, LS6 valley cover, and mainly clean things up.
But Round 2, I'm thinking heads (ported/polished 243's when my friend upgrades her GTO or Trick Flow Fast-as-cast heads) GM Hot Cam (or similar) and bump up compression. Injectors if necessary. Not too worried about that part yet...there will be more but I'd like somewhere between 375-425 RWHP.
Anyway, that's the plan, I'll get a build thread started later this weekend.

I live in Flushing (Near Flint for those who don't know...and we have Detroit water, so we're OK) and work in Rochester.
I grew up in the Waterford/Pontiac/Keego Harbor area, so I still identify as being from SE Michigan, although I guess Flint area counts as Mid-Michigan. lol

My GF's Sister's family (here come the Spaceballs references...lol) lives in Grand Blanc.
And my GF's parents used to go camping at Groveland Oaks every summer.
Oh, I guess I'll mention I do car audio/alarms/accessories for a living, so I plan to do my own harness and stuff. I think I can handle it. lol

Dunno. Never been. Last year I think it was the same day as Woodward, and I had to work. Changed jobs last November and get weekends off now, so I might look into it.
I got sick of getting stuck in traffic, or getting hassled by cops for driving an import car in the days leading up to Woodward. Having to work on the day of the cruise blew, since we were right on Woodward and you couldn't get home easily. How's the traffic around B2B?

Traffic around the Bricks show is NOTHING like Woodward lol. It's around 3000 cars and it's all in downtown Flint. It's a show....not a cruise like Woodward. Although they do cruse the week prior to the show
