Smile New member fron FRANCE

Hi,

My name is Cyril, I live in the east of France, just near Germany and I work in Luxembourg.
In december, I bought my second F-Body, pretty new 1999 Camaro Z28 A4 full options, bright rally red. My first F-Body was a 1989 IROC-Z (305 TPi) sold 3 years ago. Then comes a french car MATRA (now sold) and comes the 99 Z28

The new one is an export model and has T-Roof, leather, rear windows deffoger, traction control system, cassette player with 12 disc CD changer, power door lock, driver and passenger seats electric, front and rear floor mats, polished wheels,.......
It has only 40.000 miles on it. I purchased it totally stock but I also started to do few mods like the US electric mirrors in black (export version are ugly and heavy), red chevy stickers (like SS) on the wheel cap center, a black Strut Tower Bar (home made by a friend of mine). Coming soon SLP lid with K&N filter and Ram Air system, original Z28 dual exhaust (Export versions only have silgne exhauts) and it sounds no good

short term job will be to change the automatic and the rear axle fluids and gaskets (engine fluids and filters, spark plugs have already be done)

Please find the pictures bellow

welcome.

from what the media says about France you must be hated for driving an American car.

your deffinitly right about the mirrors being ugly...rear bumper cover too.

should post a pic of the engine bay to see if anything differs on your version.

welcome Cyril
I had no idea these cars made it across the pond. I just thought the Italians and Germans would put these heavy brutes that are too wide for American roads out of the running!!! I am glad to see you are happy with it and I wish you many happy miles.

PS please post more pics and info on that little Gold number in your pictures!!

You are right, I am part of the people who are banned for loving american muscles LOL. I will post later this afternoon pictures of the engine but there is no difference. I compare it with friends who have WS6 T/A (1998 and 2002) here in France, imported models. The only hp restrictions come from the exhaust otherwise everything is similar.

The rear bumper is not nice and I want to find an american model. But Ineed to change the absorber and all the pieces behind. I need money to import one from the US. I know I can find one in Germany from a 93/96 model but as I know, the ref is different from my version so I prefer waiting for 1 or 2 years before buying one in America.

I will also post other pictures of this funny french car with 3 front seats and rear engine structure.

Nice ride dude. Glad you changed those mirrors, they do look bad. Glad to hear not all of you over there hate our cars with a passion.

Sorry but I don't know how the owner of the T/A lowered his car. I will ask him next time I will see him.

The seat are the original models..... for Export version of the F-Body. They were produced in the Canadian plant with these seat coming from T/A models.

All the export version for the European market have:
Single exhaust
fog rear lights in a specific bumper
Full options
T/A seats
No running lights
turn signal lamps on the fenders (where you have the Z28 emblems, ours has been placed under it)
No side lamps at the rear (new bumper) and at the front of the vehicule. The lights have been placed in head lamp (I removed it in the turn signal compartment at the front)

Bellow, you will find the pictures of the engine bay (I didn't clean it, sorry )

PS : Hope you can understand me when I write

You write better than I do, so don’t worry about it. The 'accent' if you will, takes a bit to get used to but it just helps me pretend your a hot French chick....... so it all works out! LOL
