Default Subaru Guy Coming Back!

Hey guys! My name is Andrew and I used to have a formula LS1 a while back but I wasnt really into cars much at the time. After a sold it I got into imports pretty bad. I had a couple DSM cars but found my home is Subaru. I built 2 and am proud of both of them. The last one is an Sti that is in the for sale threads on this site!

Anyways hit me up if you have any Subie ?s. I am a Specialist on NASIOC if your ever over there. Im looking for a WS6 or SS so feel free to hit me up and I got my eyes open in the for sale threads. Great to be back guys! Im ready to get started! Here some of my old projects!

Ya the unequal length header makes the exhaust pulse wich gives it that natural lope. But Il tell you that with the Kelford 280 DOHC's, 3 and 1/2 inch exhaust, and 44mm dumped external wastegate, I drowned out the sound of 90% of the LS1 cars I ran with belive it or not. Not at idle....but at full boost when the full exhaust was shooting out the dumptube and bouncing off the ground!

As for the turbo.....it is a URGT35R with a massive 1.06 hotside! Head spins to 8,500rpms and the cams never stop pulling all the way to redline! higher the gear...harder the car pulled. Doesnt run out on top.

AWD.....1.53 60ft's.......that I will miss. But Il love to see the wheels come off the ground one day hehe! Thats why im here!

Thanks for passing on the respect...but I didn't have to come to my senses...just my priorities. F-body LS1 cars are cheap as hell. Not to offend. I could do a rear end, cam, intake, heads, and full exhaust and spend less than what I spent on just my bolt turbo and FRONT mount kit. You guys want to see what the differnce in parts pricewise looks like? Here is just one total from my engine build alone.

SUBARU SUX! Not one car on the street that pisses me off more. Well maybe a civic that has a fart can and thinks hes "Joe rocket". Impressive numbers on the white one btw.
Well we are glad you came back and are willing to go really fast now.

Ever have the white one to the strip?

totally feel you on the prices, thats why i love 4th gens, cheap to buy and cheap to make fast. ive talked to Axis a few times, ill probably get a built short block from them when mine pops. had a gt30r on my legacy, not near what you had but it made the car have a little giddy up and go.

Never took her to the track with the new setup. Never even pushed it. In fact iv never ran more than 15psi for the reason that its for sale. Same setup on same car runs mid 10's with a low trap.

I bought one in the first place because they are a lot of fun in a circle too! haha. http://video.search.yahoo.com/video/...d=000150173053

It's pretty cool though that I am able to switch over like I am haha. I also have an R6 and its kinda like trying to switch over to a harley...they worlds are just so differnt but in reality are all in the same. I love going fast and it doesnt matter to me how it happens or what im in....except a NEON....ya thats rite...us Subaru guys hate em too haha.

Totally agree with the above statement about hondas with fart pipes. You know...its guys like that who give imports in general a bad name. But thats a whole other thread haha. Glad to be here boys. Where do you guys suggest I start?

I really want a black or white 2000 or newer WS6 stock. Maybe a cam setup, exhaust, and intake. But nothing more than there. Clean. Good start?

Ya just hit me up. My buddy alex did that. Course he picked up a cheap Sti block and ended up making 450whp. Talk about a sleeper. It ran mid-11's. Stupid I know

That white STI looks clean as heck. I actually wouldn't mind having one sometime in the very near future. I have to do a little more research on them before I make a move though. I'm also a fan of the way the boxer engine sounds. It's sounds kind of mean at WOT in my opinion.

welcome! Both those cars look good. Just wondering, how reliable are they at that power level? And just a thought since you come from turbo cars, there's a few turbo kits available for ls1's if you wan't to go FI.

Thanks for the Welcome guys! Man...Subarus are built pretty well to be honest. There are a lot of guys making 500+whp on the stock Sti 2.5 motor with just bolt-on parts and tunes! The problem is you just never know how long they are going to last.

There are a lot of reasons to build the motor with a large turbo. The lag is more so you need more rpms to play with. Aftermarket cams let you make power all the way through and come on a lot harder! But as far as reliability goes..Subarus are just unreal. A built motor will last a long *** time even with the abuse. The stock tranny will live a long life supporting 580wtq and the Driver Control Center Diff lets you move the power from the front to the back with the roll of a dial! And as far as tunes go....You can have a 600whp daily driver that will idle smooth, run like factory, and be pretty quiet. Not to mention when your foots out of it....its just a 2.5l so gas miles add up!

But...with all the good comes bad. Prices are crazy for builds....engine bay is pretty clustered....ex: injectors take bout and hour and a half. You have to find a AWD dyno and trust me they are few and far between. And probably the biggest problem if you will.. is that the entire car is a system. The injectors must match the turbo, the intake diameter must match the inlet, the Ecu must match the mods, the intercooler must be large enough, the maf cant be maxed out, the wastegate diameter must be the right size for the application, and so on and so forth. Everything feeds off eachother. So basically you cant just bolt on say....an intake, exhaust, and turbo or the car litterally will fuel cut, not idle correctly, and boost creep....you have to litterally do everything at one time to make sure everything has what it needs to perform. Cost a lot of money and gathering of parts.

But ounce the entire list of parts are together you need and you bolt them all on and have it tuned on the dyno...you drive it off the dyno as a whole new car that feels, acts, and sounds like it did when you bought it til you put your foot into it. And unlike a honda....you will never have to touch the tune til you are ready to go to the next "stage".

And yes.....I have already called on a few kits for the LS1....just not crazy bout the undercar kit..out of my element as far as location goes. Not out of the ? though.
