DVD E Brake switch question
My new dvd player requires wiring to the ebrake and I have noticed that the ebrake indicator in my cluster lights up only intermittently. Will this cause a problem, or can I wire a switch to something else that I can flip when it's in park so the dvd will play?

The parking brake switch is a simple one-wire grounding switch so I doubt the switch is the cause of your intermittent cluster light. You should be able to connect to the parking brake wire and have it work fine. You could also try just grounding the wire from the head unit. That works on some (but not all) brands of head units.

who makes your in-dash(?) DVD player? depending on the brand...just like WhiteBird said...it may be as simple as grounding the parking brake signal wire or; you may need, to build a relay/modify the wiring harness. Let us know, some of us here may be able to help you out with that just remember...if you get caught with that thing on while driving down the road...I don't know what you're talking about?!

The parking brake wire is light blue and can be found under the center console going to the parking brake switch attached to the parking brake lever.
The problem with the radio and windows cutting out is caused by bad solder joints in the BCM. The fix is detailed in this thread: https://ls1tech.com/forums/general-l...blems-fix.html
