Default Went to the track and tried using my TH400 like a power glide

Good news is the idea works, the 28" tires let me cross the 1/4. Car ran low 10's, best of 10.20@135.5 with a 1.60 60'. I think i killed the power by running 111 octane and not upping my timing. Car went from trapping 134.5-135.5 when I added 1 degree, but chunked a brand new ET street so I was done for the night so I didn't get to try upping the timing. The tires didn't help my 60' out at all, still the same shitty 1.6x 60's. It would go 1.4x if I ever got to run on a prepped track, but that will never happen. I lost a coupler on my intercooler pipe too, so to sum up my night:

$1000 on wheels and tires
$90 on 111 oct gas
$10 admission
now I need
$30 new coupler
$250 for new tire with shipping mounting and balancing

I'm sick of spending money on the car. I think i'm done with drag racing, tired of spending 6 hours at the track to get 3-4 passes because there are literally 400+ cars with 300+ of them 16 second fwd street tire **** boxes ******* up what tiny scrap of track prep is left over from TNT. They had a PSCA TNT earlier and they were complaining about the lack of prep on the track which is really bad news for them since they are very fast cars.

You're knocking on the 9 second door, I wouldn't quit now. Doesn't Las Vegas Motor Speedway ever have any anti shitbox events that you can run your car in?

LOL @ anti shitbox events.

Do they run a regular bracket series out there?
We would rather run at a bracket race than a test and tune. All the bracket racers around run big *** steam rollers and run mid 11s LOL. at least the dont produce bald spots on the track.

Only one tire. I'm not sure how, but it chunked a 1x1x.25 piece out of it near the edge. Only reason i'm pissed at all is because of that. Now I have to buy a new tire and I'm not going to do that for a few months because of how much i've already spent.

They have anti shitbox events, but I need to spend another couple of thousand dollars on the car just to make it legal to race.

With the 28.5 tires , it runs 136.5 in second gear. It can run I think 140 or 141 vefore it hits the limiter in second with 28.5's and the 2.75 rear gear even at about 3800 lb race weight.

Now I really want to do it with one of my lighter cars. I planning on running 2.41's in a cobra kit with a th400. 160 in second @ about 2400 lbs.

Ok thanks for explaining. Just using two gears then, no 1:1 ratio like a glide in second.
