Default Worst day of racing in my life

I had to vent here, as my racing buddy (luckily) couldn't come out today. In the local nobox race tonight, I went .013, .007, and .027 in practice with a 7.937, 7.942, and 7.939 respectively. First round, I got to run the slowest (I'm the second slowest) car, dialed at 8.50 to my 7.95. I cut a .024 to his .257 and caught him by about 150 feet. I dogged him, knowing I had him covered. I forgot one thing though- he was a street '05 Corvette. He ran 89 mph to my 85 wide open. Needless to say, he ran around me at the last bit and clipped me by a MOV of .007. This was by far my worst meltdown ever. I didn't make this mistake when I was 18. I bought back in and red bulbed -.002. After winning a record (for me) three races, what a great way to end the season. I feel like a Cubs fan- There's always next year!!

If thats your worst day of racing I think you'll be ok. I've ran dead on my dial in and lost more than once. Thats why I dont bracket race

If you drove the car home, then this is not the worst day in racing you will ever have.

I expected to see 'car'nage. . . or read about loss of friend at track or something.

Dude. You had a good day.

Default car "n" age

On the drive home, I started thinking about my old '85 Camaro. I used to snap the spider gears about every other month. It was so bad I carried an extra junkyard posi with me everywhere I went. Other than the money, I would have rather split the posi in half than lose that race. I would have had a reason for the loss. It's not the getting beat that sucked, it's that I lost because of the dumb actions that I took. I know you lose most and win some, but I go to win.
Also, I most definitely wouldn't have put the death of a friend in a forum of people that I've never met. I was just venting a little. Good luck to everyone else for the rest of the year!

the worst day at the strip would be when you knock a rod out, engine catches on fire, and you stick it in the wall. keep it in perspective.

I went and spent 8 hours at the track and I only got 1 real run in. My car is ******* up on me and ran like **** on the other 2 runs (3 runs all day on a test and tune) then it would run fine on the street or on a 10 -100 run on the highway near the track took it out of the park and ran it on the street between each run and it ran fine. so at least you know why you lost and can do some thing about it.

Haha, I think BlackScreamin put it best.

And when I go to the track, I am ALWAYS running for a new PB (in any and all categories). I only run Test and Tune (unless I can swap to T&T after getting knocked out of the bracket racing) or I go to rental days. For me, the fun in having an M6 is that you can always go faster if you can drive better, and there's always something to improve driving-wise.

Now don't get me wrong, my car is consistent as hell when I'm out there, especially for an M6, but even if I can hit a new PB by 0.02 seconds, I feel great, and every new tenth of a second that I best, I feel like a million bucks. I don't get that same thrill when bracket racing. What's the point of "racing" if you're NOT trying to go faster than your stated time?

Well as a hardcore bracket racer, I do feel your pain. That down right sux. I'd rather go red than let them come around me, because I know it's a rookie mistake and I've done it more than once

I bet you don't do it again for a while.lol.

Good luck next year!
