Default stock g8 gt vs turbo v6 jetta

Coming home from the olive garden (which was lovely) with my g/f and i see this jetta come flyin up the highway he gets caught in the lane next to me from traffic so i step on it a little and pass him to get his attention...he realizes i wanted to play so finally we get some open road with no traffic ahead and take it down to 50 i'm in 3rd gear with lots of room left (maybe 3000rpm) and i can hear his blow off as he shifts to a lower gear...thought for a second this might be a bad idea but i give it the 3 honk and we both left pretty even but the g8 still caught half a car before the end of 3rd, he pulled to about even at the end of whatever gear he was in and i shifted into 4th and thats when the g8 started pulling hard (our 80-120 is pretty awesome with the auto 6) once i got to about 1-2 lengths and growing i shut it down and got off the highway. he drove passed on the on ramp and shouted later man and i the same.

Good kill but how do you know it was a V6?

I thought they came with either a V6 or Turbo 4.
Unless you are assuming he turbo'd his Vr6.

And I love the G8's!!!

Turbo VR6 is possible, I have seen a superchagered one. I never drove a G above the 80 but I am sure they pull hard, I think they have a real low gear in them too. like low 3's.

Anything is possible.

If so he coulda been near 280.
But a bolt on turbo 4 could be to.

(just giving you a hard time cause if you didn't talk to him, it could have been anything)

Good kill! I agree that chances are that if it was turboed then it was a 4 cylinder. A turbo VR6 should be quite fast.

I agree 100% on the 80-120 being killer in the G8's. My LT1 hangs decently up to 90 (about 1 car back), but after that it's all over and the G8 pulls like a freight train.

my buddy just turboed his 97 vr6 and he was telling me that they can only run 5 psi safely on stock injectors. he also told me that at 12 psi they are a mid- high 12 car from what he had read on vwvortex.
