LQ9 vs. LQ4, BLOCK only
Hey guys,
Used search, came up with a lot of good information. Just want to make sure the LQ9 and the LQ4 are the same exact BLOCK. Not talking about the pistons, heads, or compression between the two. Just need a 6.0L Iron Block. Are these exactly the same when talking about just the block?
Thanks,
Matt

Thanks again everyone. As of right now, I just found/bought a used LQ9 block. Should see it in 3-4 days. Heard that before, lol. Hopefully this one will not result in a refund.
Also, just got my cam spec's back from Pat G. He's suggesting a 234/240 .610/.623 (w/ my 1.8s). This seems like a great DD grind with plenty of power "under the curve." I'm getting excited again

how much did you pay (or pm)? just curious, have an LQ9 shortblock that I'm sizing up if my wallet can take the hit to convert a 73 Camaro. I'd like to know what I could ask for it if I decide not to go through with it.

They can be found for $350-450 I'd say. I had one for $500 shipped fall through the cracks because shipping was giving the seller problems. I just found another for $500 shipped within a few hours. Most of these seem to be coming from Cal, atleast the ones I have found, so shipping to S.FL is pricey.

Thanks Grey...I think this one will be good. From a shop, not just a fellow tech'er. Plus, I don't need anything besides the block. Other stuff will just pile up in my garage, along with old camaro parts...not much room left for extras. lol

LOL that was pretty funny, my parents just visited and apparently they found out the building I live in the security and valets refer to me as the american.
Grey, what shape is the engine in? The heads are off of mine with the valves out and I figure I might just part this thing out instead.
