C6 ZO6 vs CuNfUzEd Went out tonight to one of the local spots. As I am pulling in, I see this bright red ZO6. Once I am parked, I do the usual walk around checking out the competition. There were several cars there some on slicks some not. Once I got over to the ZO6 I was wishing I had put at least a drag radial on. I knew I had to get some.
It being a clear night, it was cold as hell. Everyone was just standing around. I walk out onto the road, at least it was dry. Again I cuss myself for being a dumbass and not bolting a good tire on. The ground seemed a little cold so I knew it would be slippery.
I walk over to the guy sitting in the ZO and talk with him a bit. Finally I get tired of all the standing around and say "Hey, let's line'em up". He pulls out and lines up. I have to pull around to get to were he is. As I aproach I get a good look at his tires. Damn things are WIDE!
I put my foot in it, knocking the crap off my tires as I near the line. The flag man stands off to the right on the curb. He does the usual waving forward to make sure the cars are even. Finally we get lined up right. His arms go up and I rev up a little so I don't bog. Then they drop.
I let the clutch slip at the first hint of movement. I ease into the throttle and get an immediate lead of about a car and a half. I was suprised and pleased all at once. I figured I would have to run him down. As I top 1st I short shift into second in hopes of better traction going in to the next gear. The tires bark slightly and the car yanks me back. I am widening the lead.
3RD gear snaps into place and the tires spin like a bitch. I ease out ever so slightly and he is gaining. Mid 3rd traction is good and I am able to go WOT for the first time. The car jumps out and I nail 4th flawlessly. By mid fourth I let out 3 cars ahead. We were doing around 140.
We try and line'em up again and I miss shifted 2nd horribly.
Fricken notchy when I shift. The guy was a cool cat and was racing everyone and wearing'em out to boot. Not sure on his mods. Video will be posted soon.

It is hard to get mods out of these guys. They are street racers and covet thier secrets. I couldn't even get info on times. I was just told he was fast. Hopefully the video will be up shortly.

Stop ******* around with that car already. Put a 28" slick on it and
spray the be-jesus out of it. Street tires...no nitrous...stock Z06...
Give me a break already ya rookie.
Seriously though, good runs. The vid at least gave us an idea of
how the race went down. Nice write up too.
