Default New M/T tires, but...

I bought some new M/T ET Streets and ET Fronts for my Bogarts, but it seems like the guy at M/T was having a hangover when he did the white lettering for the M/T. What have you guys done for that? I like the lettering, but I'm thinking about somehow removing the paint and making a new stencil and redoing the lettering. What have you guys done?

Also, there is a bunch of rubber flashing (I guess you call it that, its the stuff that got squeezed out) around the bead. I would assume it would be safe to take a blade and cut that off?

I believe the lettering is common, it never really lines up right. Yes it would be safe to cut the excess off but don't get too crazy and cut into the tire.

I know what you mean, but there is a bunch of over spray and crap too...I'm wondering if I can use some paint thinner to get it off, and maybe a paint pen to color it in?

A machine does the paint spraying on the tire. My lettering turned dull and was almost not visible after the car sat outside alot last summer. I made a stencil and re-did it, and its still holding up and looks good.

Ahh, just turn it the other way? Or is it on both sides?

Not sure why you would want to advertise for M/T without being paid anyways. Plus, I personally think those big white letters look tacky.

Someone told me that WD40 would work to take off the white, and then at Kragen you can buy white pens for the tires, but my friend told me that the pens are tedious as all hell...

I say your best bet would be a stencil..

I don't know if you have ever looked at a ET Street before or not, but The M/T and the ET STREET is actually raised lettering in the tire, so filled in with white or not, its still very visible.

True enough, but I still don't understand why you would want the letters filled in with white paint.

Might as well go get a Old Cutlass, jack it up in the rear, and throw those tire on that.

I dunno, I kinda like the lettering, maybe not when its white white, but kinda a dull white.
