Question anyone have a blackberry??

my current nextel **** the bed on me the other day, speaker stopped working.
im pretty hard on phones, but im thinking of getting the blackbery. does anyone use this?
i would get somthing else, but i need the direct connect for work. its the best thing ever for what we do, so i need to stick with it.
i was thinking about getting a basic nextel and a nice i phone or somthing, but 2 phones is just to much. i already carry to much stuff in my pockets and on my belt.
let me know how they are. im going to order a new phone today and im not sure what to do.

I have a used BB World and I like it. The browser sucks *** but I really don't care and don't rely on the phone for the web (although if I ABSOLUTELY need to, I can navigate). My friend has nearly the same phone on T-mobile and his browser is much better, maybe it's the 3G whateveryoucallit... Works great for email, alerts, etc. I will definitely get another one when I'm due up for a new phone.

In terms of being durable, this has been dropped, chewed on by my dog, got sand in the keyboard and all sorts of **** from when I was on vacation... still works just fine. My flip phones always felt cheap and like they were going to break. This is like a newer version of the old Nokia brick thing I used to have.

Can you post a pic? It makes me enter my zip then brings me to a page with about a hundred phones

EDIT: Can I assume it's the 7100i? Seeing as that it's the only direct connect BB on the list...

I've never dealt with any others besides the world, 8830, curve, pearl, etc... but plenty of people at work have the older ones and no complaints. I am not very useful in this discussion maybe someone else who has that phone can chime in

I have an 8310, i'm looking to sell. I really like it, but I want an iPhone. These blackberry's are very nice phones though. I don't think mine is as sturdy as some other phones I've had before.

I have the 8000 series World Edition, I love it. If your not fond of touch screen bull crap you will like it. Many additional downloadable programs, capabilities, remote connection for your computer, GPS system, etc...
One of the better phones I've owned and trust me I lose/break them a lot

I have a Blackberry Pearl through AT&T and it's the best phone I have ever owned. I wouldn't recommend it for durability, but I know RIM makes other models that would fit your needs.

You'll be happy with it overall, I think.

Brad~ I ahd that BB and hated it. It crashed twice and was a pain in my *** to use. I have a Moto Q9 from Sprint now and it is a 10000 times better.

I have the new Blackberry Curve with Sprint.

It's quality is top notch, and I got a "Otter" case with is the BEST for severe duty.

It's really nice to get your e-mail in real-time, along with GPS, and all the other stuff.

Some of the Blackberrys are interchangable.. call them with your model #.

I have been using BlackBerries since they came out about 5 yrs ago. maybe more. I have had about 5 different types, my current one is the AT&T BOLD. I never put it down, never have a problem that I can not fix myself. (I Admin them at work).

To get the blackberry, do you have to get internet with it?
