I am trying to find out what is the max bore and stroke I could go with in any one of these blocks. I know with the sleeves in the aluminum ls2 and ls3 blocks theres not much boring that can be done. Just trying to see about the biggest cubes that can be made without going to a c5r or lsx block.

Go to remeber that just because you CAN put alot of stoke in the block, does not necessarily mean you SHOULD. After playing around with deck height, stroke, rod length and coming up with such a small piston and no compression height, I stuck with a 4". I wanted to build a 427" SOOOOOOO bad out of my 6.0 block, but common sense prevailed. Since i wanted to spray the motor, there was no way I was going to go to a shorter compression height than what my 6.125 and 4" crank were going to provide. Mine comes out to 1.115 with that combo.
A 4.250 with a shorter 6.100 comes out to 1.015 or .99 with a 6.125 rod
4.100 crank is 1.065 and 1.09 with a 6.100 and 6.125 rod.
So, while it will fit you need to look at things like that. Most engine builders will tell you (or piston companies) that when you start getting that short, your are asking for trouble. Again, it CAN be done, but SHOULD it, is the question

I agree that's why I'm sticking to a 414 with a 4.0 stroke, but I will spray the car. The 445 is using some custom pistons that should work well. It will be a max effort hyd. roller NA motor. I give them credit for trying something different. Erik Konenig seems to build some of the best gen 3 and 4 motors out there.

Yeah it all depends on the stroke and CH and cylinder length and what you want out of the engine. We have 3.250 stroke stuff here right now and 4.375 stroke stuff here right now!
Thanks for the nice words 1lejohn and Jame's car should run even faster with this new one but you are right it is NA only! NO NOS on that one.

I guess it depends on how much dependability you want. The most I have seen them bore out the ls2 is .030" which still makes the sleeves thicker then the ls1 from what I hear. I'm having a 421 built right now at ERL, 4.03" bore 4.125" stroke. They are using Wiseco pistons, seems they have got the skirt and ring design down for long stroke LS based engines.

I am up at a 429 ci 4.070 bore x 4.125 stroke in a ls3 block. Seems fine so far but I am not spraying it nor reving it past 6000 rpm. I did get a chance to talk to one of the piston designers at Wiseco and told me that they have it all worked out and I should n't have any isues.
