L92/LS3 Head Exhaust Question..

L92/LS3 Head Exhaust Question..
I know the stock Valve sizes are 2.16/1.59, and that with a 4.000" Bore that the Exhaust side is really close to the Cylinder Wall.
My question is can the Exhaust be made larger with a larger Cylinder Bore to get more clearance? Is there enough clearance in the Head Chamber as well to accomodate say a 1.62 Valve?
Has this or something similar been tried?

To get that Exhaust out faster, pick up a little more top-end..
The 243 Heads use a 2.02/1.62 I believe, and they are pretty damn good with a LS6 Intake and the right Cam.
I'm interested to see what a set of L92's would do with a 2.16/1.62 Valve combo..just an idea..

One of the issues with the L92/LS3 heads is the exhaust valve shrouding. You can see the difference even between the LS2 and L92 stroker builds. That little bit of extra bore helps unshoud the valve. Increasing the size of the exhaust valve increases the shrouding. Not a good thing.

I don't think that the LS2 valve is larger than the L92. You might want to check that info. I am not near my specs and I don't remember.
I have a LS2 with LS3 heads on the dyno right now. I was amazed at the power. It has a Lunati 212/218 113 cam and a 4 barrel intake. It makes 530 at the crank with 1 3/4" Hooker F Body headers. I will have L76 intake numbers after I get back from PRI.

No real need for a larger valve. Use the largest bore block you can. Get a good valve job and port the exhaust if you want more flow. Make sure you get a good cam for those heads also. There are a some different opinions on how much split you need.
