This is just being thrown out there, looking for thoughts on this, I had the CTS-V lifters failed on me twice wont run em again the LS7 lifters are doing just fine. But what lifters are recommended with 660 lift LSL lobes and with extreme springs setup for 670 lift max. Car is driven on the street regularly redline is 7100 rpms, raced a couple times a month usually 2 to 3 passes down the track, has titanium intake valves, hollow stem exhaust, titanium retainers, and .110 wall thickness push rods, 1.8 harland sharpe modified LS7 rockers.

i have the gm racing lifters witch im pretty sure is the cts-v racing lifters good to 8,000 or 9,000 rpms but mine are fine and haven't failed. try Morel lifters if you want the best, there about $500. but i would be a little worried about the titanium valves some people have had those bend. but maybe they got a bad set everything isn't perfect, and everything can have a bad batch thats what happens when you use aftermarket parts

Mine are the ones that come stock in the LS7s havent heard to many problems with those yet. An when I had the heads off last I had them pressure tested and they were perfect so I assume they are good. Its amazing for supposedly being just as strong if not stronger than steel only lighter sure do hear alot of probs with things made of titanium lol

not saying you will. i just read on some vette forums that guys had some problems with them. but gm took care of them and replaced there bad ones. sometimes **** happends

Morels.

Titanium is less dense than steel, and has just as strong if not stronger tensile strength depending on the mix. That is why its liked so much, weight reduction. The major down side...its softer.

I put morels in my motor. They're one of the best lifters out there and that isn't a part of the motor that I would skimp on. If your lifters go they usually take your cam with them so that's another expense people with failed caddy lifters have to deal with. And I don't know about everyone else but I hate having to pull heads.

Morels for sure. As for GM LS7 valve failures..........99% of them have been a broken factory spring that dropped the valve, which then nuked the motor. I haven't heard of many pure LS7 valve failures.

^^^ IIRC the Cranes used to be rebadged Morels. Not sure about the current billet Cranes but they look top notch none the less. Morels are really hard to find so you may want to look into locating some Cranes. A buddy of mine is into offshore boat racing and he won't consider anything other than Morels.

BTW I seen Morels on Ebay so give a look there if you can't find them.

FWIW I replaced my Comp R's (one had a retainer cup clip come off) with the Caddy race lifters. Not a ton of milage put on them but the milage it did see was spun to 7200 without issue. Pretty important that the valvetrain geometery is setup properly I paid alot of attention to Vettenuts posts. In hindsight I should have pocket'd the extra money and just went with a set of LS7's.

Actually, it was the lunati lifters that were rebranded morels. i know this because i bought them! They were a big deal because they ended up being half the price of the Morels because of they way they were advertised, ended up being advertised incorrectly. Anyway, not sure about the crane billets, sounds like they are really stout pieces!

yeah, Lunati, then apart of holley was learning to count.

They sold them under the impression their is 8 lifters in a set, so thats how you get 1/2 priced set.

That didn't last long.
