Default Key Fob

My keyless entry just stoped working out of no where, I changed the battery and still nothing. Any Ideas, I really dont want to go to the dealer and have to pay a ton for a easy fix.

You can try to re-sync the remote w/ the vehicle, instructions I thought were in the manual.

If not, IIRC one of the GXP guys had a smoked board that he replaced.

The 2004 (or was it 2005) and newer GPs' key fobs MUST be programmed using the Tech II scanner, there's no backyard way to do it.

one of my fobs needed to be replaced because of a bad contact. could be something like that. they can also be programmed using the dic... it should be in the manual.

do you have a spare fob? and does it work?

get a couple new ones off ebay and have them programmed. some items say like programming instructions included etc. locksmiths can do it too i guess. might be cheaper than a dealer.

I know one of my key fobs was bad right when I bought it. After I signed papers the dealer took me out to demo the remote start and it would lock the car then just set off the alarm when you tried remote start. It was GM certified so they took care of it but had to get a key fob to do so

I had to re-solder the battery hold down to the circuit board. The contacts on each side of hold down had broke away from board.
