Default LS7 heads or ETP 255 cathedral style heads?

got my hands on a complete Z06 engine with the typical rod bearing damage for dirt cheap, almost cheaper then dirt cheap.

I am thinking to rebuild it for Sale or to soup it up and keep. What heads have more potential, stock LS7 heads and intake or converted to cathedral style like ETP 255's with a fiber intake?

I have Mahle pistons here which I can reuse, I also might rebuild it with a LS1 style crank and stock pan to retrofit it into C5...options options........

what route to go, what yields more power?

neither will fit a 3.898 bore (stock ls6). or is this an LS7 motor?

tfs 235's would be a great option too on the larger bores.

*edit* not 100% positive the etp 255's wont fit....but i'd guess they wont and if they did, i'd still run a different head.

The difficulty right now is finding ANY ETP heads. Unless you find some used ones, you ain't gonna get em.

If you have the ls7 heads, then you can't beat the cost per dollar you are holding in your hands..

Agreed. The only drawback is the aftermarket is lacking an intake for these heads.

Default heads

The LS7 heads with a little bit of work done would be good way to go. Even though the ETP heads (LX-PI heads) are becoming available very soon. The LS7 leaves you with a better intake manifold to start off with. If anyone is looking, I have a couple sets of the ETP heads available. A set of 245 and a set of 225 and a set of 215's.
