Default Are the Vortec 4.3l V6 the only ones?

That came with the composite center bolt covers? I tried to find some 5.7L ones, but all I've come across are the stock ribbed stamped steels. I know that the LT4s had them, but they are NOT cheap, and still modification needs to be done for the alternator to fit correctly (to either the cover or the alternator). The V6 ones have REALLY sloped ends on them and I'm pretty sure they'd clear our alternators IF they had a V8 version.

Maybe I can find 2 sets and graft them together to make 2 V8 covers (I'm joking of course, it would not only look bad, but most likely not hold up and/or leak bad).

Here's the ones I'm referring to:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_W0QQ...mZ330257790250

TO REITERATE: I KNOW ABOUT THE LT1/4 COMPOSITE COVERS THAT CAME ON THE CORVETTES (And select few 97 SLP F-Bodys with LT4s). THEIR PART NUMBERS ARE P/N 12552321 LH, and P/N 12552322 RH.

Now, is there any OTHER factory equipped, centerbolt, composite valve covers for a V8 SBC? Or are the only two GM motors to get them, the "LT1/4" and "4.3L Vortec V6"?

lol I'm not talking about the expensive LTx composites. I'm asking if Vortec 5.7s had them, or any other centerbolt SBC head OTHER than LTx (which I said in my original post I know had them).

I did read what you wrote, and I'm saying that I think the Vette's are the only V8's that have them..

You should read what I type too, young Grasshopper..

Your post is correct. The only GM engines equipped with composite centerbolt valve covers were the Vette, 4.3L Vortec and select SLP F-bods.

all SBC's built from 1987 to 2000 had center bolt valve covers.

Just the look, and if you have RRs they help muffle the clacking, not that I have RRs I just love how they look! I've tried talking my friend out of his, since he doesn't really give a crap about valve covers, but he's being selfish Dude owes me big too :\

Oh well, shame they didn't make V8 Vortec ones, those are pretty nice.

I did not make any modifications to the LT4 valve covers or alternator when I put mine on. no clearance problems at all, the alternator went right on.
