My 408 Dyno #'s! Help!!
My 408 dyno'd at 479 hp @ 6210, 445.7 tp @ 4560.
My set up:
Eagle LS1 4.00 Stroker Crankshaft
Diamond Racing Forged Pisons 4.010 bore 4.000 Stroke Flat-Top -2cc
Cam: 248/254 .625"/.622" 112 LSA
Heads: PRC Stage 3 LS6 Heads 2.08/1.60 Valves 64cc Chamber
LS7 Lifters
Fast 92/92
1 7/8 Hooker Headers
I was hoping for 500, I'm pretty happy maybe a little dissapointed.
I was thinking after I finish the exhaust (td's mandrel bent) & get the Fast intake ported I could break 500. Do you guys think thats pretty reasonable?
I was also thinking of selling the PRC's for some TFS 235's

Something else isn't right here. With a GM MLS head gasket you'd be netting about 11.6:1 or with a Cometic .040" you'd see about 12.0:1. What octane gas are you running? Who tuned it? What does the timing table look like? What's the air/fuel? Any knock retard on a scan? What Y-pipe and catback?
The last combo we engine dyno'd with the exact same setup made 625hp/585ftlbs. I'd highly doubt you're seeing 25% loss to that drivetrain! Let's see a graph and maybe a scan of the car and we can figure out what's going on before you dump $2400+ on heads.

What wasn't mentioned is that the numbers are from a Mustang dyno. Between that and the Flowmaster exhaust, the numbers aren't far off from what you'd expect on a Dynojet with a better exhaust setup IMO.

The fact that it was on a mustang dyno should have been mentioned in the original post. There is nothing wrong with those numbers. I'm sure more power could be achieved with some changes others have mentioned but those numbers seem right for your particular setup on a mustang dyno.
