oil pressure problem, please help asap. searched, searched searched.
i have searched and researched for 3months now. i have rebuilt my engine, replaced all bearings still same problem.
ok, this is on a lq9 ls engine.
all the bearings are brand new. new oil pump, (does same with stock).
tried multiple oil senders, gauges.
oil pressure rises to 18psi and stays, doesnt vary with rpm.
removed front cover, cam is dripping with oil. but no circulation to rockers.
only thing not brand new in this engine is lifters, cam, pistons, rods, crank, and rockers.
the oil pump is pumping oil, but it doesnt go to the very top end (rockers)
i am stumped. i have no clue what it could be.
i thought about lifters, but what is the odds of all the lifters being stopped up. and why is there only 18psi oil,
and it doesnt vary with rpm.
thanks for your help. and am eagerly waiting your reply.

it is a plastic barbell shaped part, about 2.5" long,if its not fitted i think this will be your fix.

did you ever get this ironed out? I'm getting the same issue with my lq9. It doesnt sound like oil is getting to the lifters, and oil pressure is jumping around even goes to zero at times. needless to say i dont run it for more than a few seconds.

Well this ones kinda tuff to speculate over the internet. Things I'd check screen in teh oil pick-up, make sure the bar-bell restrictor isn't pushed in too far (it should rest against the rear cover), bearing clearances, that the oil pick-up is properly sealed to the pump. Interesting problem, hope you can figure it out.
