Default What kind of power will this setup make?

Im currently piecing together a heads/cam combo. It looks like im going to be going with:

PRC 2.5 5.3 Heads (Milled to 59cc, stock head gaskets)
TR224R (Probably 114 LSA, unless someone can convince me to go with a 112)
New valve spring, hardened pushrods, re-using rockers arms (lifters?)
Ported oil pump
ls2 timing chain
ls1 intake for now, will be going to a FAST soon
LTs, Catted Y, Magnaflow
And of course a good dyno tune

Roughly what should I expect out of this setup? And the reason I might go with a 114 is bc of cali smog, if I were going to go with a 112 I might as well go bigger on the cam. What kind of gains will be seen going with a 112 LSA on that cam?

I'm going to guess you will make right around 380-390rwhp with that setup. If you get the FAST then 420 seems about right to be but an a4 with a baby cam is by no means a dyno queen. Should run well and be real fun on the street though.

the 112lsa will give you a little more low-end TQ.
the 114lsa will have a tad more top-end HP

I would go with the 112lsa for the little more low-end TQ. the TQ will come in sooner and thats what wins races on the street.

How much does the LS1 intake suck, you may ask?

I had a friend who had a 383 built when his stock motor spun a bearing, but couldn't afford a decent intake or heads until later so he stuck with the stock LS1 for the time being and it made 400/406.

A simple FAST 90/90 and a set of heads put him at 470/427, still doesn't have long tubes lol

yeah flowing that much air i can imagine that the ls1 would cost at least 20hp.

nice comparison...

Alright so after talking to a few people I think im just gonna say to hell with the smog, and probably go with a bigger cam. I need something with good driveability as this is my DD but I want some nice power with a good powerband. What cam can do this better than the tr224?

ls6 or similar manifold and id say 410-420...hell mine made 380 with a little vinci 220/224...most h/c setups should put you over 400 with supporting mods
