Default Heater wont come on

i tryed unhooking the blend door cable and switching it manually, it didnt change anything. iv been told it could be my cam not making enough vacuum but idk. coolant has always been nice and clean so i dont think the core is clogged but i could be wrong. a/c works but when i switch it to heat it just kinda gets room temerature

The fact that you switched it maually proves that it is not the cam. Or you moved the wrong door. I beleave that there is one on the top behind the glove box.

also depends on the temp of your coolant ? my car runs about 180-190ish and the air never gets too warm (unless i sit in traffic).

I don't know why, but the A/C compressor is supposed to kick on with every setting but Full Defrost (and I could be wrong about that setting also, might kick on for it too).

This is per the driver's manual for my '01.
