Default LQ4 with stock 243 horsepower?

Guys, I am building a budget engine for the truck with some extra parts from my CTSV. I am putting an LQ4 shortblock with stock 243's together in front of a 4l60E. The truck will have all the supporting boltons, ie longtubes, no cats, 3 inch ypipe with Magnaflows. I am putting my former CTSV VRX3 cam in the area of 226/229 590 lift. I am basically using the heads and former cam from my CTSV and putting this in a 1/2 ton truck. So, it will be a 6.0 with 10.4 to 1 compression with that cam. Anybody got any opinins on what it would dyno. Thanks in advance.

Has nobody ever put a budget combo like this together? Anybody want to take an educated guess?

Well, I have an 04 Silverado with a swap similar to this that I did last summer here's everything as follows.

Stock 5K mile '05 LQ4 shortblock
NEW LS2 heads, milled .006 and bowl porting only on the heads - stock head gaskets
218/224 cam .562/.581 lift 114 LSA
LS7 Lifters and Patriot Dual gold Springs
Truck intake manifold with 42lb/hr injectors
OBX long tube headers with NO cats merging into a single 3" exhaust
5 speed manual Reg Cab Short Box truck with 3.73 gears and stock tires.
I'm a little disappointed with power around 6 grand, I'm going to swap out for a TR224 or similar this spring and try to scootch the power up a bit since I have a manual trans.

Even though the cam is small by todays standards, it still is a 6.0 with 243's, 10.6 to 1 and most of the bolton's. I would be dissapointed with it going through a manual also. Heck, I was hoping to come close to that with a RCSB, A4, Z71. You having a 2 wheel drive with a manual, I would have thought it would have been 400 or better. Maybe I am expecting to much. I mean, an LS6 made 405 at the flywheel. That is more cubic inches, with an increase in valve unshrouding, more cam and the bolton's.

Of course, you are all over 400fl/lbs. I think more cam will probably make the HP really climb.

Well, consider the fact the truck has 30.5" tall tires and a heavy 8.5" rear end. I bet my motor in a fbody with a T56 would be 380 RWHP and 420 RWTQ.

My motor will be a good question mark when done. I am boring the block .030 over and putting in flat top pistons with LQ9 rods. I have picked up a set of PP stage 3 heads with 2.08/1.60 valves. I am hoping for close to 400RWHP. Can't wait to see what it actually puts down in the truck.

I don't know if you have been watching horsepower tv lately but they have done a few episodes on an lq4 and it seems that the truck intake is really choking these motors when some bolt ons get added. They picked up an extra 100 hp and a good amount of torque at the flywheel when they installed a fastlsx/92mm throttle body. I will definately be doing this bolt on. I am still in the process of putting an lq4 in my chevelle. desk top dyno claims 640hp@7000rpm and 500+tq@5000 with that intake, patriot stage3 heads, xr275hr comp cam and a set of long tubes. this is what I am putting together. if I see 500hp at the wheels with this I'll be a very happy man.
