I had a ferret... they freaking stink. I've had a sugar glider for about a year now, They are real easy to care for, only complaint is the barking at night. They sleep all day and run around all night, I leave my cage open and let her run around the room. I feed her meal worms, apples and dry food.

I have owned 2 gliders before. They are a lot of work and not an easy pet to have. Getting your glider comfortable with you takes a lot of time and patience. And their cages are a pain to keep clean.
Also, proper feeding is a must.
Do your research on these guys. They need room to play.
Make sure you are aware of the time commitment these animals need. They cna be really cool pets, but it takes a long time.
(Many bites, and sleepless nights of glider barking)
My wife and I gave ours to a friend who already had 2. She had more time to spend with them.

My girl and I have one. It was her daughters but she went off to college. I play and fed it now and he stays with us and will probably stay there. I love the little thing even though he isnt too playful. We feed him fruits, baby foods and some kind of wierd flower. I have thought about getting another male so that we has a companion. My brother was raising them, I can see what he has. He lives in Georgia though, but comes here often.

i have a flying squirrel, which is similar to a sugar glider
mines easy to take care of eats any fruits/vegitables/yogart/oatmeal/nuts/seeds, and drinks water out of abowl..his cage only smells if i leave it for awhile unwashed(you have to actualy scrub the whole cage b/c they pee all over and it sticks everywhere)i leave my cage drapped with sheets(to keep it pretty close to the same temp all the time and to keep any smell from getting around the house) my flying squirrel is very tame he will only nibble on your fingers if he likes the taste thats on there, hes only pee'd on someone twice, i do take him all over and he also hangs out in my *****..mine will sleep during the day and play at night..it never wakes me though b/c i got whats called a 'stealth wheel' and i never hear him running, mine does 'bark' occasionaly but not very often, i also let my flying squirrel roam my room...he knows how to open his cage doors, so i just let him run free...he comes back when hes hungry..i got mine from a breeder though b/c i didnt not want one from a petstore as to fear of him not being raised correctly and didnt want him to be mean/scared of people
