Default Aftermarket Timing Chain users come in >>>>>>

Which timing chain are you guys running. I am hoping to do a cam-swap soon and I want to do it right the first time. I was looking at the SLP double roller unit. Are there any modifications required for installing that sucker???

TIA,
-Nick

Rollmaster Double roller with torrington bearing and hardened gears for me, best price from Scoggins Dickey and it uses spacers to clear oil pump from chain. No sweat to install, very adjustable.

I like cloyes myself - their double roller went into my LT1 build.

Are all of these direct replacements, or do they require modifications for a LS-1?

I did the same thing LowETz did. I used the JWIS chain and the Cloyes ajustable timing kit. I ordered both from Katech. The JWIS chain is much more robust looking than stock. I also put in a ported/polished ARE LS6 oil pump, as well.

SLP double roller you will need to mod the timing cover to get it to fit. Just a little grinding.

I had the SLP Double Roller Timing Chain put in with my HotCam I don't know if any modifications were necessary (Speed Inc. took care of the installation)

I am running the SLP double roller also. Great unit. The only thing that you will have to do is shim out your oil pump for the extra clearance. The kit comes with the shims.
