exhaust question
i just got my new loudmouth I system. when my dad saw the "muffler" he flipped out seeing how it is completely straight through. my question is, how big of a difference is there between the LMI and LMII in sound? also, i have the slp totl now w/o the cone of silence, and i wanted to know how big of a difference there is between the totl and both the LMI and LMII in sound. when i say sound in both i mean how much louder is it. any help is greatly appreciated.

this lm1 is fine with stock cats and manifolds, sounds good.. but if you go with headers you will hate it. sounds like a dump truck. trust me i just went thru it..

my bro had lm1 for a while on his stock ws6. lm1 is one of the best sounding catbacks imo with stock manifolds w/ cats. lm2 has a deeper tone which is why i went lm2. its really not as loud you would think being a straight through muffler..

LM1 sounds perfect on a stock car (manifols and cats) my ss had LM1 with manifold and cats and a slp oversized y pipe and sounded great but wasnt loud enough so now i have LT's ORY and LM1 and it may be a little to loud. But tell your dad not to worrie if your being good around the cops youll be fine, And you can always take it off and sell it if its to loud.

when i bought my car it had a lid and loudmouth... the same one you have...
it sounded good.. wasnt too raspy.. and wasnt too loud.. a cutout is louder..
inside the car you will get a little bit of drone, but not too bad...
was never pulled over with it, and i like to have my fun (im 20)
its not as loud as he would think.. no where near.. tell him it will be ok!

just go through that list and find the setups that match your car... keep in mind cars with LT's and/or ORY will be much louder, raspier.. and cars with cams will be much louder..

I say do it. I have LTs, ORY, and LM1 and I get no looks from cops. But I also dumb it down as well since I've got an M6. It's not going to be loud enough to get you noticed and at least it sounds tasteful which earns points from cops. Not like those coffee can cars that always get pulled over for sounding like ****. You have nothing to worry about so... DO IT!

^^^??? the LMII is quieter than the LMI because it is actually a muffler rather than straight through like the LMI. also, the new design allows both mufflers to be interchanged on both systems. if you buy a LMI you can use the LMII muffler, or if you get the LMII system you can put on a LMI muffler. they are 100% interchangeable.
