Default Haltech?

Getting ready to put a 5.3l/4l60E out of an 08 Silverado 4x4 into my 04 Jeep Wrangler.

Anyone use the Haltech Engine Management systems before?

Would this be wise on my setup? I do want to keep it smog legal....

I guess I would probably need to convert it back to cable throttle body?

I guess I would probably need a standalone computer for the trans too?

It just seems like this would be a very clean, easy way to control the motor instead of tuning the OEM PCM and modifying the OEM wiring harness to work on the Jeep.

EDIT: just to be clear, it's a complete dropout - so I will have the OEM harness, PCM, DBW peddle, etc...etc...

hard to imagine that can possibly be easier since you already have the engine harness and PCM...

Wow! I didn't expect that type of response! I just figured with the Haltech I would have a custom harness and engine management system - Keep in mind I already have to modify the OEM computer and harness to make it work in my application. I can either do it myself or pay someone to do it for me

OEM it is, then

I am converting my rx7 from rotary to an ls1, and I have an e11v2. Is there a specific reason I should not use the standalone to control it?
