400-500 is a big gap but i would definitely get a m/t dr or hoosier dr ...nittos and bfg's will not cut it, as far as rims thats your call i only run 15's on my car if you run 17's you will be good to go with m/t or hoosier

I personally would do 17s all the way around to save some money on tires. plus there are a few more options when it comes to drag radials i believe.

if you get a 17x11 rear its a 315/35/17
front will be a 17x9.5 and will have 275/40/17

exactly. The M/T drag radials are very popular and have held up to a 9.09 by MightyMouse here on the site. Maybe i missed it but is this going to be a daily driven vehicle?

well if you want to hook 500 rwhp you'll need more than a street tire ....

You're talking about traction, and hugging the ground, so I would stay away form a DR. Get a NT-01 or a Toyo R888. Much better street/road handling characteristics then a DR. And, I would also go with a 18" over a 17". A 18 is obviously going to have less sidewall flex, which isn't going to help handling.

Although, if you are talking about drag racing, then go with what has been mentioned. But, you never mentioned it, so I will assume just as others, only the opposite direction.

FWIW don't use any wheels using acorn nuts. For the second time I have bent ARP 1/2" X 20 studs using MT DR's. Total PIA taking out the axles and screwing in new studs.

You'll need a drag radial for sure. Look into the M/T street radials.

Mickey thompsons dumdumdum. If ur serious about hooking up, I would concentrate on ur suspension setup.
