So you dont think if im pushing 400-600 worth of nitrous through the motor I need to step up to 1/2 head studs? Also with O-Ringing the heads/block which is better if either and what does that typically cost? Thanks!

Parts numbers that I have are:
ARP AR5.250-1LB-----STUD 1/2X5.25 LONG BROACH
ARP 300-8304-----1/2''- 20 12PT. NUT (1)
ARP 200-8513-----BLACK WASHER - 1/2''ID
Sorry, can't say what it all ended up costing because it was included in other work on the heads and block.

I sell a few 1/2 inch stud kits and use them in high output engines for added clamp load. Some get by with std size 11mm studs at high power levels with no problem. The supercharged GM LS9 is rumoured to have been upgraded to 12mm for additional clamp force with the boosted engine. We normally get 300 to machine the block for 1/2 studs, the stud kits are 219 and up depending on application.

I charge 75 dollars to clearance the cylinder heads for 1/2 inch studs. I also install ARP inserts in most heads to even out the load, this option is 150 dollars plus the "T" washers from ARP.
When using the GM heads, it would help a little but I would much rather use something with a thicker deck to have all the sealing advantage available.

The t washer or hat washer makes the head easier to service, but does not add any additional load. It presses in after the head is reamed to fit, keeping the top of the bolt hole from crushing down around the stud. I also do not use a washer when using these, so changing head gaskets at the track is easier as the "washers" are pressed in so they don't fall off. If you go to kurturbanperformance.com you can see a picture of the washers alone and after install.
