L19 head stud and boost???
I know by now there are a fair amount of people running around with the 4bolt heads and L19 studs...
Anyways I am trying to figure out how much hp and boost most are making with these studs without issues. I understand you will push water almost no matter what, but I built the coolant setup on my car with the vents like the Ohio Boys.
Anyways what kind of boost are you guys pushing with these studs!? We have only turned my car up to 14psi and it did fine with the twin GT42R74 turbos and ET240 heads. We went 9.1 running out of gear on this setup and I am just wondering how much harder I can push it. We are thinking we are going to end up around 20-23psi on this setup when we finally start to push it, but I am trying to have some info before pushing too hard.
Car:
04 GTO
Twin GT42R74 Turbos
Iron 408
ET240cc Heads
L19 head studs
Moser 9" SRA Conversion
We will be spinning it to about 7k RPMs once we swap out the rear gears.
Any input about what point we are pushing our luck? i was hoping to maybe take this car into the low 8s on it's current setup before swapping for a 6bolt block/head setup.

the normal ARP head studs will hold 20 psi. i went with L19 just to be safe.
but i know when i put a post up about this before. there were three guys that came in and said that standard will hold 20PSI
one guy was at 22psi and still no lift.

1400hp,27lbs boost,ls3 head gaskets, std arp head studs, with no blown head gaskets, there is no one thing that can fix blowing head gaskets. The fastener is usually not the problem-it's the combination of parts, installation of parts, and tune.
