Default installing h20 pump b4 re-installing the heads?

My heads are out being ported and milled, UPS should have them delivered back to me next Tues. In the meantime, I'd like to do what I can in advance.

1. Think I'll run into any problems if I mount the water pump now?

2. A new set of LS7 style lifter are also going in at this time. I've read both, pre-soak them in oil & not to pre-soak. Any advice?

it took me all of 10 mins to get the WP back on when i put my mez unit in.

so i can't see you gaining much.

removing the lower idler pulley makes reinstall much easier...that one bolt is tricky

I would just wait. As already stated, WP is easy to install with heads already on, and if you leave teh WP off, you just have that much more room to work with when you are trying to install teh heads.

What they said!! You should soak your lifters in oil before you install them.

okay okay...I'll hold off on the water pump until the heads are here and installed first. I'm just bored and anxious....and want something to do!
