Default opinons need!?!?

just bought a camaro its a 98 with 100k miles, the guy i bought it from didnt know anything that was on it so i got it for $6,000 so far the mods i found are.

pacesetter ceramic headers with copper gaskets, LS6 intake, MTI lid, mobil one synthetic oil, granatelli plug wires, low temp thermostat, B&m short throw.... anything else i can look for? it has an aluminum driveshaft so that means most of the time those have 3.73 gears? i believe it needs subframe connectors because the exhaust hits the floorboard becasue of the 3 in y-pipe on it? and makes a weird ticking noise on startup but quits immediately after. ive come to two conclusions.... the ticking of injectors because of the intake? or tooth missing on flywheel?.... overall car is a 9 on a 10 scale. very very clean

Al drive shafts were stock on all M6 cars. They came with 3.42 gears. If an A4, it may have 3.23, but check the build code for that.

SFC's will do nothing for the Y hitting the floor pan. Youneed to readjust the way your Y sets.

When did oil become a mod?

Junk (or sell) the pacesetter headers. Get hooker or if you have $$$ get Kooks headers, like me.

that ticking is probably piston slap. its pretty normal. and normal to go away after the car warms up.

do a search for it, and you'll find a lot of info.

Why get rid of a decent set of headers that are on the car just to go with a different brand???

not changing the headers.. its pointless. they are ceramic coated and they have the EGR block off because of the LS6 intake...

Most headers will be blocked off anyways unless you get an off road set which they wont even be there, its normal. As far as finding what else is on the car, post pics, also look for a number on the head, 3 digits and tell us what that casting number is.

241
243
853
806 (98 heads, perimeter bolt)

should be something like the above, the others should be center bolt valve covers.

Change the fuel filter and see if that helps.

The RPO codes won't show you which heads you have. Each head flows a little differently, better or worse.

Most likely 806
Look for perimeter bolt valve covers if you cant find the casting number.

If not, something it up.....
