Interest in a 275 class for LSX Shootout????
Would you FI guys be interested in slapping on some 275's and running heads up with nitrous guys?
I am gauging interest in order to make a proposal to the guys at NMCA. Between the nitrous guys and FI, I don't think a qualified 16 car field would be difficult.
Rules would have to be refined, but it would involve something to the effect of a single 88, no wheelie bars, and a few weight breaks.
Any thoughts?

We would gladly help with the rules if you need anything.

Keep turbos and blowers at 3400, no motor plates, 275-60-15 max, max of YSi, Turbo true midframe 88, dunno about ATI blower, and nitrous gets one plate no foggers.
If you want to make it even slower, limit to 3400 for turbo/blower, max of 80mm mid frame turbo, Vortech T-Trim, and D1SC. That will start out as a low to mid 9 second class.

The thing about this though is it should not be a street car class. Nitrous should be able to run whatever they can fit under the hood, and have appropriate weight breaks. Put the turbo guys on an 88. If their car has a 25.2 cert so be it.
DrTurbo, it's funny you mention Hot street--On another site, there was a 20+ page thread with almost the exact same discussion on the rules.
If nitrous and FI are going to truly be competitive together in a class, there are limits that would have to be put on the FI cars, and be a little more generous towards the nitrous cars. Just the facts. I think the Shootout could benefit from theis class, but it needs to be right (between rules and estimated interest/buzz) before it ever gets presented to NMCA.

Mightymouse has gone 8.77 with a midframe 88, heavy car too. If you are trying to keep this class +/- 9.00 you'd limit the turbos to 76mm, single kit like a 7_ pill?, and a T-Trim or D1SC... Kinda like the ORSCA rules except they allow a 9_ jet and bigger blowers I think.
I'd consider running a 275 class but not a nitrous only class, you wont' get a strong enuff turnout if you limit it to one adder.

PSCA Wildstreet.
The fastest nitrous car is a BBC and goes 7.90's, the turbo cars a .2 faster without breaking a sweat. they outlawed BBC and F3's for next year. F2 max or 98mm turbo
