Default New N/A C5 Best 9.703@144.83

We are traveling back to East Tennessee from South Georgia Motorsports Park.

I had a great day at the track. The DA was from -600 to -800 all day. I made ten ¼ mile runs. After initial tuning, the car ran 9.70's the rest of the day.

I managed two 9.70 NA runs, they are listed below.

1:52 PM - 1.320 60 ft, 6.184 1/8 ET at 106.45 MPH, 9.703 1/4 ET at 144.83 MPH.

2:36 PM - 1.325 60 ft, 6.186 1/8 ET at 106.92 MPH, 9.704 1/4 ET at 144.44 MPH.

I also want to extend a very special thanks to Eric VonHentschel for going above the call of duty with all his help and expertise in reaching my NA goals. Eric’s machine work, part selection and engine assembly provided me with some killer power today!

Videos and time slips will be posted later!

Nice times, CONGRATS!
That is some killer MPH for that ET considering its an N/A combo.
Looks like that engine worked out very well for you.
Eric is certianly a force to be reckoned with when it comes to LS power

Yes, you are correct. I couldn't believe it myself but I consistantly ran over 144 all day. I did run 110 mph in the 1/8 once but most were in the 106-107 range. Even though my car leaves pretty hard (1.320 60ft), I have to detune it off the line and then bring the power in down track. That is why it is running such a big 1/4 mile speed.

LS1speed - My car is a 2000 C5 coupe with a N/A 427, hydraulic cam, ETP LS7 heads, GM LS7 intake and TB, AMR headers, Yank TC, DTE 3.73 diff, and FLP 4L60 trans.

I am trying to get the videos loaded! Had to deal with a waterline break when we got back home from the track last night! So I am a little bit behind.

That is one mean ride for sure DBN, congrats on reaching a new PB and thanks for letting me ride along to be the video man!

DBN and I decided it would not be good for us to have a track like that close to home, it was a very nice day and the track took its toll on broken cars, they had the starting line working very well!

That's funny! I did check the mpg once before I started racing it a lot and I got about 13-14 city and 18-19 highway. I just leave it in race mode now because I don't like to spend the time changing back and forth from street to race trim. Basically, I can add passengers seat, exhaust, street tires and change the tune, and drive the car on the street.

Jeff, I WANT TO SEE THE VIDEO! I hope that you got the water leak fixed. Thanks for going with me to the track yesterday. It was a blast. Actually, it was 10 1/4 mile blasts. LOL.

To All:

Here is the link to an awsome video of DBN's C5 running a 9.703 ET at 144.83 MPH NA and then backing it up with a 9.704 ET at 144.44 MPH NA. Both runs produced a 1.32 60 foot! The only downside is the time did not post up on the scoreboard on the second run. I have no ideal why the scoreboard showed a 1.21 for his reaction time on the time slip it shows a .121 reaction time on the 9.703 run.

Congrats on the runs, very impressive!

I know racing at Gainesville yesterday we started with -1200 DA at around 10:30 am, so I figured SGMP would be good as well.
