In 4th gear my car seems to grind and it's usually on cold days but doesn't always happen, any ideas?

if its gear specific sounds more like your synchros than a clutch

concur with the above said gear specific is tranny and multiple is usually clutch... most likely your synchro's taking a ****... what's the mileage???

I had a similar problem due to a bad syncro.

If you have an aftermarket stick, like a Hurst, check to make sure that your positive stops aren't too aggressive. (The bottom/rear stop is square on the stick when its in 4th gear.) The cold could be messing with those also, if you are on the edge with them.
