to shave the bottom if it hasnt been already. and an oil sending unit just in case you break it when pulling the ls1 intake off.

ok well you either need to buy the ls6 coolant crossover tubes or shave all the ribs on the bottom of the intake. inspect the gaskets that come with it if they are damged buy new intake gaskets if not leave them. some choose to buy the oil sending unit ahead of time in case they break it but if your just careful you should be fine. a search will do you wonders there are a lot of threads on this...

You do not have to have the tubes, you can leave your ls1 tubes on and never touch them. On the bottom of the intake you will see ridges, take a grinder with a sanding wheel and knock the ridges off, dont get into the bottom of the intake just smooth it off. some people dont do this because they say it weakens it thats Bull crap. I have also heard people say they did not want to do it because of the way it looks,,,,,,, all I can say is if you can see the bottom of the intake on the car, I would like to know how you shrunk yourself that small. If you choose not to grind the ribs, you will have to buy LS6 crossover tubes, about $50.00 Other than that it is a direct bolt in. when you get it ready to come out LIFT THE THING UP BEFORE PULLING IT FORWARD, or else you will break your oil pressure sending unit. listen to me I broke mine, and it dont take much to break it, and thats another 40 bucks. hope this helps

if you are gonna grind the ridges off i would just do all of them, too much trouble to select certain ones. just knock down all the ridges in the middle of the intake inbetween and under the foam till the bottom is all flush.

I think I saw somewhere that a guy used chalk to coat the coolant lines, then sat the ls6 intake down on top to see exactly where they made contact.

no the LS6 coolant lines are not on the back of the intake. LS6 coolant line kit consist of the front coolant crossover tube and plugs for the rear
