Ticking/ tapping sound after driving awhile.
Kinda odd, the only other time I heard this sound was last thursday. Drove the car plenty since then and didnt hear it again til today right before I got home. It seems to do it when the car is warm and it wasnt nearly as loud as it was last week. When i hit the gas it gets very fast and when I come to a stop its a very slow tick/tap(kinda goes in sync w/ my foot pressure to the pedal if that makes sence). I know the car has a small exhaust leak which im waiting for a part to come in but if it was that I would always hear it. Im far from a mechanic but when I lifted the hood it sounded like it was comming from somewhere near the intake or motor.

if it's a lifter the heads are coming off. if its a spring that is broke and the valve ends up dropping then it could be catastrophic. i don't think be your description that it is a spring but if your worried you should have it checked out

Hey, just thought I'd mention a broken/bent pushrod. I had a bent pushrod that was making the same noise, it went away when the pushrod broke....
It's an easy fix. If it's a lifter, your heads are coming off... or at least one of themm but I doubt it's a lifter.
