do it. its easy and cheap. go to home depot and get some 400 grit and then some 800 grit. then grab some primer and black spray paint. you can get either flat, semi-gloss, or gloss. i went with satin, which is like a semi-gloss. mask off the whole back of the car and start wet sanding the section to be painted with the 400 grit. spray down a coat of primer. let it dry. wet sand with 800 grit. spray a coat of black. let it dry. done. took me about 4 hours total and less than $20 in parts. i suck with paint and mine looks professional and is smooth.

its all in the prep. if you clean it well and sand it well and apply even thin coats you will be fine.

Paint it Chevy black, lol, jk...You'd have to go with flat black, and even then, I don't know how much it would stand out.

Thanks! BTW I did the flat black to the rear panel of my 69 Firebird back in the mid 80's. I guess I was ahead of my time. I only did it because the car was candy apple red and I was warned people would not see my tail lights.
